Shauna is an Irish theatre maker and works as a Writer, Composer, and Musical Director in both Ireland and the UK. She is best known for her original musicals, Chromatics and Tír na nÓg and is a huge supporter of new and original Irish Musical Theatre. Her mission is to promote authentic Irish stories and bring Musical Theatre to the forefront of the Irish theatre scene.

Recently, Shauna has worked with West End director Andrew Keates, bringing her debut musical Chromatics to life both in London and here in Dublin in 2018. Her newest solo musical, Tír na nÓg was showcased in Smock Alley in 2018 and in The Other Palace in London’s West end in January 2020 and in October 2019 she presented The Other Chosen One, a musical about Neville Longbottom, at LeakyCon Boston. She has written a number of pieces for theatre and is currently working on no less than six new original musicals both here and in the UK. In London, Shauna attends the esteemed Book, Music & Lyrics workshop run by David James as part of their Composer/Lyricist track.

Shauna also works closely with the Mill Theatre in Dundrum, running musical theatre workshops and programmes for young people, and is currently developing a new piece of children’s theatre which will hopefully be performed in 2021.

Musical Director

Barry has been musically directing shows for the past five years with various societies. He began playing piano at age 11 and took up the saxophone a few years later. Although his day job is in social media he still finds time to do musicals on the side.

He has musically directed several shows such as: The Wedding Singer and The
Pajama Game with KIMS, In the Heights and Spring Awakening with UCD Musical Society, Little Shop of Horrors and Mamma Mia with UCD Dramsoc, Sister Act with Tullyvin MS, and Chromatics and Tír na nÓg with Poliwog Theatre Collective. He has also acted as Assistant Musical Director for shows such as Annie with The Mill Theatre, Cabaret, She Loves Me, and Jekyll & Hyde with UCD Musical Society, and Grease with UCD Dramsoc. Aside from musically directing he has also played in the pit for several shows such as Legally Blonde and Singin’ in the Rain with Phoenix Performing Arts College, and Legally Blonde, A Chorus Line, and Bonnie & Clyde with UCD Musical Society.

He is beyond excited to work with this incredible team to bring this story to life. In classic leaving cert style of very basic Irish he will leave you with this seanfhocal: “Bíonn dhá insint ar gach aon scéal” - “There are two sides to every story”.
